Please feel free to introduce yourself here! Tell us about yourself. How did you first become interested in old movies? Which other actors and actresses do you like? I'll go first. My name is Jessica and I'm 21 years old. I first became smitten with Clara when I watched her movie, It. She was so charming and talented, I just developed an interest right away. I read her biography by David Stenn, and I grew more and more interested. I recently watched Wings, which was amazing, and again, I'm more in love . Ok, your turn now! ;D

Hi, I'm Dario, and I'm known as "nutsaboutclara." Besides Clara Bow, whom I call "My Sweetheart-My Everything", I like the following film personalities: Charlie Chaplin, Laurel & Hardy, Charley Chase, Rudolph Valentino, Mary Pickford, Douglas Fairbanks Sr., Theda Bara, Gloria Swanson, Mabel Normand, Colleen Moore, Louise Brooks, Greta Garbo, Laura LaPlante, Clara of course, and Marilyn Monroe. I have 15 Clara Bow films and 17 Marilyn's. I've been a fan of Clara's since the 1990s, even though I've heard about Clara since 1976, when the Morella & Epstein book on Clara appeared in bookstores during that bicentennial year.
-Dario.

Welcome to the board, Dario! What did you think of the Morella & Epstein book? I finished it about a week ago, and I thought it was so inaccurate. It portrayed Clara's father as a kind, good father and made it sound like he was always so good to her

Actually, I liked it. I bought my copy of that book, and David Stenn's 1988 book, in 1995. While it maybe inaccurate, it does present Clara in a nostalgic bent, which I thought did Clara some justice. I particularly enjoyed the Harry Richman chapter, especially the part where Clara faked her death. She certainly had a very marked sense of humor. ;D -Dario.

That part was funny. Of course, seeing how adorable she was, I'm sure it'd be impossible for a person to not forgive her

OH YOU BETCHA!!! ;D People have often said(meaning the survivors of that era, who are long gone)that Clara was more attractive in person, physically and otherwise, and that the force of her personality was something to behold. In fact, long after her death, many of those survivors of the '20s era still remembered her with great fondness and admiration, as well as love. -Dario.

Indeed! It's very clear from those documentaries that the people who knew her adored her then, and still do; she's probably the movie star that I would have most loved to befriend, because she was so fun and sweet!
